Constantine I, 307/310-337. Follis (Bronze, 19 mm, 3.03 g, 12 h), Treveri, circa 328. CONSTAN-TINVS AVG Laurel-and-rosette-diademed head of Constantine I to right. Rev. PROVIDEN-TIAE AVGG / •PTRE Campgate with no doors and two turrets; above, star. RIC -, cf. 510 (differing bust type) and note. Very rare. Thin flan crack and the reverse a bit weak, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

This Trier follis comes from the very last Providentiae emission before the Gloria coinage was introduced. For Constantine I, RIC records a single coin each with bust E8 (RIC 510) and E9 (RIC 511). This coin shows Constantine in bust E2, head with rosette-diadem, with a unique, elaborate diadem with hanging ties.
